About The Hormone
The two ovaries are positioned to the sides of the uterus in the lower abdomen. They are shaped very much like almonds but are about twice as large. The ovaries are the most important of all the endocrine glands because of their ability to contain eggs (ova) necessary to reproduce our species.
This hormone also produces the necessary hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and some testosterone) to enable the development of the female characteristics and the final maturation of the ova and the maintenance of healthy pregnancies. They will continue to produce hormones throughout life, ensuring the health of the system.
